My Mater is finished

Here he is in all his glory. After 4.5 years including working fulltime, going to college fulltime and dating my wife, he is finally done.

Thanks guys....I learned a lot on this project. The only things I sent out for offsite work was the engine machine work, trans rebuild, differential setup, bench seat upholstery. All else was done by me. Even took a stab at the exhaust, which is pretty simple...straight back with a 90 to come out the sides. My first go round with welding motor mounts, shock mounts, trans x-member and spring perches....hope it all holds together...haha

The paint is pretty decent...didn't go 100% show worthy, too many little personality dents, but from 10 feet it looks nice.

It will be for sale as soon as the title process is finished.

Very nice but I never understood spending years of your life building something just to turn and sell it as soon as it is done. I must get too attached to stuff.

You did a beautiful job on Mater.

What will you have as a project after he's sold?

Yeah...it was never going to be a permanent addition to my garage, but more of a learning and proving to myself kind of project. Something I always wanted to do and admired the guys who had done a project this involved....and now I have.

I have sold off all my tools and woodworking equipment, so now the garage is empty. Now I will have more time to learn to play more guitar, read, and take my wife riding on my Street Glide.

Definitely! And I have to give a lot of credit to those on this forum who blazed the trail and empowered me to look at options when building a hot rod.

Congratulations on a job well done, it came out just beautiful. But I too could not sell a project after so much work, Drive it a season at least. My bad, it's your truck and I know you should do exactly what you want to it, with it, etc. I've enjoyed your build, thanks for sharing it with me, us.
