2010 Front End Conversion Kit

Hey Folks,

I stumbled across this 2010 Front End Conversion Kit and thought I'd share the info. The kit includes: Fenders, Hood, Grill, Brackets, and Headlights for $1450.00. The pricing seems pretty fair, assuming everything fits and works as promised.

I'm not sure this look is for me personally. Although there are things I do like about it, namely the hood and the fenders. I am not a fan of the huge lights and I really don't like the rivets on top of the grill or the funky bumper.

HAAA, yeah, no thanks. The grill up at the hoodline is all wavy from being pressed in by those bolts.

Nice find though... always cool to look at what people come up with.

That one is not for me. I'd love a late model nose on my truck, but IMO, that one only vaguely resembles a late Ford front end.

Passenger side head light fitment is absolute shipoopie. That grill looks suspiciously like it's just a shell over the stock surround and then held in place by those massive Torx bits. Black ABS plastic valance looks like crud as well. While I'm sure a lot of custom work went into fabricating that front end, the little niggles and nuances detract severely from the overall package. What absolutely kills it for me is that they wouldn't have taken much more effort to fix or look right, and after all the work to get it done in the first place not addressing them is poor craftsmanship IMO.

While I like the overall look of the 08-10 swap, I do not like the headlights themselves on the bottom of the housing. I realize it gets them down closer to the road for more efficient and effective lighting, but on such a large vehicle it looks wonky to me. Like to Euro semi's that have the lights down right above the bumper... yuck.

As for a Raptor variant, CABT has that covered for the low low price of $80,000 plus you supply the Raptor. Gag. http://www.customautosbytim.com/RaptorSUV.html

Hmmmmmm, my bumpers not going into production for another 4 weeks... Could always just get the hood and fenders and source the rest myself. I need to replace both fenders as it is anyways... Michael, get in here and tell me "No!".

I can repeat that post about a potential Excursion you were looking at and just modify the subject matter if you'd like. It's been a while since I've been in hot water with the mods.

Tell you what. Get Michael to sign off on it and I'll do it if you can get him to agree that it looks good and that he prefers it over the 05-07 front end I'll do it
