OK well got both valve cover off and all connectors looked good so I took cyl 5 injector and swapped it to cyl 1 and ran buzz test again injector was still way quiter than the rest. So two injectors down. Which leads me to my next question. With 253xxx miles should I bite the bullet and throw 8 baby swamps in or just replace those 2 bad ones? For those with baby swamps did you notice a difference in power a lot?

Check the resistance of the injector solenoid. Compare it to the others.

Resistance is the same as #1 injector which was nice and loud. 2.8 ohms exactly for both of them meaning electrically the selnoid is OK and the injector must have failed mechanically. The reason for checking them would be to see if it was worth rebuilding?

No, checking the solenoid resistance is to see if the solenoid is the problem. It is easier and cheaper to replace a solenoid than an injector.

If the bad buzz followed the injector when you transplanted it, and the solenoid ohms out acceptably, then I would expect the injector is bad. Call Jim at Rosewood and talk to him about it; he is an injector expert.

As far as new injectors go, you probably won't go wrong with Baby Swamps- I haven't seen much about them in the way of bad. However, Jim at Rosewood seems to have the best reputation on this particular forum. Every time someone recommends Rosewood, there's 5-8 people jumping behind them with a recommendation of their own.

I also have Rosewood injectors. So maybe I'm biased. But if you call him, he'll probably have more useful information for you. Rosewood Diesel Shop

Was actually checking out rosewood last night I will give him a call. Thanks so much for all your help. I will keep you guys updated on what I do. Also anyone know of a reputable company that rebuilds turbos? Or is this something that I could tackle myself?
