Funky sound from the engine when I hit the gas/shift down...

Guys, for the last year or so, when I hit the gas pedal and it shifts down (you know, to get it to pick up speed faster), it makes a funky sound once I let go of the gas pedal.

Almost like a sucking sound (yeah, it's prolly telling me it just sucked down a quart but seriously...)

I have recorded it and I can do it again and post it here if necessary. However, not sure how clear it will be to others considering background noise. I hear it clearly but then, I'm used to my engine.

The more it speeds up or the longer I hold the gas down, the louder that noise seems to be when I let go of the pedal.

Thanks

I'm guessing it's not. Sounds weird, it's like a sucking (a bit high pitched...) sound. Sounds very weird I think.

That (sound wise) sounds like it could be right.

Is that bad?

What IS it?

Should I try to get a decent recording of it?

Thanks

Just start checking all vacuum lines, start with the PCV valve.

I'm helpless so someone else has to do it or I'll have to take it to a service place

Is this something that can be bad for the truck and what can it cause?

Thanks

It can cause the motor to run lean and over time it will harm it. I would have it checked before something happens.

Maybe it's the back pressure from the turbochargers when the throttle closes.. Totally normal.
What boost level are you running?

V10, no computer...??

It didn't use to sound like this though. Been doing it for the last year. Didn't have the money to have it looked at...

I will try to get a sound clip for you guys. I hear it clearly but again, I know my engine so I notice it. You guys may not but I'll give it a shot.

I was just messing with ya. If you had a Turbo V10, everyone here would have been drooling all over you for dyno sheets/pics/test drives lol..

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier but I had trouble accessing the forum.

I WAS wondering if I had features I didn't know about. I thought I didn't but hey, when you're not good at this stuff, things aren't that obvious
