im thinking of getting a remaned 302 from napa and well idk if it will work considering it has a roller cam i believe and i have a SD EFI system, part number is ATK HD15. thanks for any help or advise
The cam type has no impact on it being compatable with SD EFI or not, if you do get a roller motor you just have to make sure the distributor you use has a steel drive gear on it.
okay then. didnt all f150s has a steel drive gear on the dizzy? i dont see why they would make one that wasnt steel
Most 302's were flat tappet until around late quarter of '91. Then Ford started with an undersized roller cam with the old firing order. Then late of '93, new firing order. Some of the 302 flat tappet blocks were already drilled and tapped for the lifter hold down tray or "Spider" as it is called, sometime in the '1990 year. The flat tappet cam's used the cast iron cam gear.
