I bought an el-cheapo chinese $10 blue one from amazon and it works fine except has an issue if the truck is shut of then restarted it wont read everything.. has to be unplugged and plugged back in again (reboot) I plan on getting the OBDLink LX unit and making it a permanent fixture in the truck.

Heres something to look and and decide for yourself. https://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters

I bought mine off ebay -- just make sure the seller has US stock in case you run into a bad one. My Seller sent out a replacement and didn't even want the 1st one back. I sometimes have the restart issue, but it is a handshake between Torque and the adapter -- I restart Torque and it comes right back.

Be aware some of them have fancy lights that can be pointed back at you when it's plugged in. My buddy got one of those and it bugged the crap out of him driving at night on long trips (constant colored lights flickering). It might not bother you, but it would me -- just so you know...

Make sure you load the Ford specific PIDs too...

Thanks diesel_dan and GenMan, I ordered today and it didn't look like it had a bunch of lights, I don't like a bright cab at night. I did download the Ford PID's.

If like Torque Pro check into Car Gauge Pro...its bi directional. Used it to do a buzz test and power balance. Same price as Torque

I have the same one. Been using it for 2 and a half years with no problems. The lights don't bother me at all. If they did, I would cover them with tape.

Torque Pro stopped communication with my BT so I just bought the CGPro. I will be trying it first thing in the morning. If it does what it says this could be big.

Get that one but buy it direct from from BAFX, they offer free shipping. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it works perfectly. BAFX Products - Making The World Easier

Thanks for that! Torque Pro is bi-directional on the code resetting side, but doing stand alone tests takes CGP to a whole new level!

Got to go check that one out....
