Romelīs truck

This.......
Way cheaper to import you than the truck... I would concentrate on that. If Jonathan doesn't want the truck at his place, you could always keep it here, its only half a continent away....
Without sounding all Ra-Ra Mr. Jingo, You belong here anyway, like I told you when you were here, You are the most "American" European ive ever met!
Sell your house and don't look back, isn't like you have any weight there...

Thanks Justin. We would get along great, I am just as stubborn as u are and have a lot of crazy build ideas. And I like precize work as u do. Sadly I know I would do much better in the states than here. My mom is aging and she will need my help, that is the only thing that really holds me here. I am just too sentimental, I know.
BTW how many Europeans did u meet?
On a side note, when will u get oportunity to visit Europe and drive your but in IDI? Ha ha.

More to topic: your very nice truck.
(Exchange rates are likely to change, hopefully in your favor).
From LA. I assume via Panama Canal and Atlantic or is it Pacific and Suez Canal?
It doesn't matter, it costs too much.
My first thought on shipping was Mexico to Cuba, a socialist government and actually a very nice place. Shipping from there might cost considerably less. Maybe from a Cuban company or Russian shipping company? I don't know if international shipping costs vary much between large companies based upon what country the corporation is from,(no) but the strength of the economies from the shipping points to receiving points may make a considerable difference. Anything from the USA to UK and Europe or vice-versa I would assume to be the most expensive. I would think that shipping from Mexico Or Cuba would cost less. The largest Port in Mexico is Veracruz at the gulf of Mexico:
> Veracruz is the gateway for Mexico's automobile industry, which is concentrated in the center of the country, in the states around Mexico City. This port has several advantages. It is the first to be equipped specifically for shipping automobiles.<
>Located on the south-central coast, Veracruz is closer to car manufacturers and has better access to both import and export markets in the U.S., Europe, Central and South America than other Mexican ports.<
You could go and visit the Yucatan Peninsula first, exploring the ruins of the fascinating Mayan Culture.
My next thought was from Venezuela to Portugal or HOPEFULLY you can find shipping from somewhere, directly to the Mediterranean!
I thought of Brazil, Port of Belem near the mouth of the Amazon River (I've been there,) to ... Western Africa and you could drive home, but there are so many conflicts going on it would be a challenge and a very risky trip. It's unfortunate (about the politics I didn't discuss at the beginning)
Finally, I thought, drive from Arizona to Alaska, portage a short distance across the Bering Sea to Russia, Maybe on a barge. I've seen pickup trucks just lashed down in the open on top of containers on barges going to Alaska from Seattle... Then when you get to Russia just drive right home! I would expect diesel fuel to not be expensive in Russia. Your truck would be admired by many along the way and maybe get a few local newspaper stories about your trip. You could even schedule a stop or two at those crazy Russian diesel truck events Your truck would be a show piece and get lots of attention. Just don't get drunk and get your truck all muddy!
Install a dash cam in case you see a meteor or encounter a roving Woolly Mammoth
Drive Safe and avoid trouble
You could write a story about your Journey (and why it began) with photos and probably sell it to a high class magazine for $500-$1000 or more (they usually have rates they pay for this or that so you could ask), They don't pay enough so you have to force them to pay more because this is not your average 'My visit to Michigan' kind of story. Or find a film maker who would like to ride along and make a documentary and willing to help finance the trip and possibly share proceeds from the film, Perhaps with a sponsor.
Or try a crowd funding site for donations to help you get your truck home. The Story of Jan and His Truck. A trip from Arizona to Alaska and across all of Russia should attract some donations!
In fact it is an interesting problem and story to begin with, which is why I am taking the time to reply.
Driving across Russia would be a heck of an adventure! Exploring Mexico, Central America or South America, equally or more-so
That's all I could think of, except for some that are intriguing but illegal and only good for a movie script.
Don't be sad, Something will work out for you.

1987 F250 XLT Lariat Supercab, 6.9L (NA) C6, Dana LS 3.55 ratio. Nice 28 year old truck needs some basic work and attention, routine stuff plus interior upholstery and paint. Low income means it's taking some time. Hope to have it done by August and haul a a nice 3500 lb. (loaded) trailer and full bed over a few mountain ranges.

At the pump prices of Diesel Fuel world-wide in US dollars
Holy Smokes!
The price of diesel fuel in Venezuela is ONE US PENNY PER LITER!
Lowest price in the world - data from April 20, 2015
1 gallon is 3.7854118 Liters so that is less than $0.04 per gallon!
See the whole list.

There is a drop down menu to select the prices shown /liter or /US gallon or /UK gallon and another to select currency and another to select specific country but I couldn't get those to work. Maybe you can.
If it doesn't work for you, you will have to multiply the price shown per liter by 3.785 to get the per gallon price Or using x3.8 is close enough.
Russia is $0.64/L or $2.47/gal. If you could get 14 mpg in your truck, to drive 6000 miles across Russia would cost $1,058.57. so it's not such a stupid idea (to consider). It will be a bit further than that with winding roads and some mountains so it would take more refined calculations.
Driving across N.Africa to Czech Republic is much less expensive in terms of fuel cost but you must be a real adventurer for that one.
If you don't want to put the miles on your truck or drive that far then it's back to shipping

Shipping costs could be lower for other reasons though.

Well my truck is getting ready for the shippment. I got some parts as I always wanted, the last score is the interior matching tan captain chairs with center console. The only thing I am missing is the aluminum rims, which I think will look good together with the chrome bumpers and the trim on the sides. To my luck no adds on the craiglist for long time.
June 16 is the day when my truck will be delivered to the LA warehouse.
Guys can not tell how I am looking for the moment to touch it again on European continent.
And maybe I am comming to the states for the winter, when my employer releases me. US atracts me like fly seeing a poop. Plus I will have a work there, helping my friend rebuild a house. There is still to many unknown and situation changes every day but if I get the oportunity, I just hop on the plane the second I am alowed.

so you will finally be getting your truck "home" just in time for you to leave there and come back over here? silly European, you are just as screwed up in the head as us americans are!!!!

I am screwed more than you can just imagine, ask my ex, she can talk about it for hours. And I am screwed to the point if I move to the US for good I am bringing my truck back home to the US. If I fall in love with something I just keep it forever, it is the same with my first car, I will never sell it. It is not a matter of money or stupidity, it is just keeping all nice memories conected with the car. I would not trade them for anything in the world.
There are too many unknown if I come during the winter, and I know I have to return home for a while after that. But who knows.

Hi guys,
An upgrade. My truck is now at the LA warehouse ready to be packed and shipped to Bremerhafen Germany. I managed to score all the major parts as camper shell, turbo kit, spare engine, nice captain chairs, middle console, intercooler and alu wheels. Of course parts like starter, spare ip, injectors and such small but needed things. The bed is quite packed, around one ton of stuff.I can not wait to have my butt in it again in 5 weeks, if the ship does not sink.
I want to give HUGE CREDIT to my friend here, Jonathan, the F834 guy that has been helping me past two years to collect all that and make it happen. He has spent many hours searching, picking up the parts and actually working on my truck. I have never ever met such a great person and I am trully thankful for his help, keeping my truck in front of his house almost a year and driving it 500 miles to LA.

Thanks for the kind words and compliments Jan. This has been a fun adventure and learning experience for me about trucks and the world, and nothing can compare to the value of the good friendship we now have. I hope the transport goes smoothly and I wish you all the best of luck with the registration beaurocracy in Czech Republic. I know I didn't find everything for the truck, but I think we got the main large and heavy items.
I know I told Jan in a letter, but for the rest of you... the truck ran really well on the way to California. The 3.55 gears with the ZF-5 made 21 mpg traveling at 65
mph or less, and 18 mpg driving 75 mph. Not bad at all considering it is 4x4 and carrying at least 1 ton of cargo under a heavy Leer fiberglass canopy. I was impressed. It was a nice journey and a very comfortable truck.
