Hello Again,
I have a new problem.My 63 has a t98a 4 speed tranny.I have a 289 motor.A friend hooked me up with a cast iron bell housing DITA 6394AA 11 INCH. Bought a 164 tooth flywheel and plate and clutch kit.Also a speedway small block motor mount.Thought I was all set to go.Wrong, I measured the imput shaft to the front of the 223 bell housing and have 6 and 3/4s inches.On the 289 bell housing I have 6 inches.So do they make a spacer plate that goes between tranny and bell housing?Or am I to look for a different bell housing of some sort?I have not had a stick since a 55 ford in 1967.Have had only automatics,and now I wanted a stick but do not know much about them at this point.HELP me if you can.If you have something you can sell me or where to look for the right parts let me know. Thank You

 

I found out my problem.I was on the net most of the day.I had a cast iron bell housing for a car.The depth of the bell housing was 5 and 3/4 s.And the opening in the bell housing was 4 and 11/16ths.This was for a car.Found out that I need a 289 to 302 truck cast iron bell housing.The depth is 6 and 3/4 s and the opening in the bell housing is 5 and 1/8 th. All of the guys I know drive GMs and cant help me out.Thank You
