Rattle or Torque Converter?

So recently my truck developed a rattle like sound. Sounds like exhaust or heat shield rattle but I haven't found touching.

I started to think it's my converter.

I only hear the rattle when moving from a stop and happens for 5 seconds.

No rattle in idle, gear change or moving. Just on that first gas push from start for 5 seconds and gone.

Suggestions? Should I worry about my converter? Or is there a plate I'm not seeing.

Ah, hey Cat, your doing things under the truck.
How would anyone even guess what's going on?
Your the man on location.

God luck.

Thanks, wasn't my intention just thought maybe someone here would have or had similar sound from their torque converter when it went bad since it's not constant noise.

I had an issue that sounded like a heat shield rattle. turned out to be a loose exhaust clamp at the trans cross member. good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! Was yours constant noise or just for a moment on gas from a full stop?

I'm guessing a torque converter would be constant noise .. not just when I hit the gas hard enough on a stop or going slow.

It would happen at idol periodically, and for just a few seconds. The exhaust pipe sections would slide apart and the clamp rattled against the crossmember. Might be. Along shot. Just crawl under and see if you can slide the pipes apart at all.

I found my rattle by smacking the exhaust around. When I smacked the passenger side cats, they rattled. Turns out when the truck was running really fat (and by really fat, I mean three of the coils on that side were not firing) it burned them up.

At first, I thought it was the flexplate, but it turned out fine. Lucky for me I checked it out, though, because in the course of doing so, and replacing the pan gasket and rear main afterward, I found that the timing chain guides were gone (and by gone, I mean one was in about a dozen pieces everywhere but near the timing chain.)
