Question my superduty( haunted)

please help,my 1999 f250 superduty with the 5.4 was sitting in front of my house,and started all by itseft,did not have keys in it either and the doors were locked.i ran out thinking someone was stealing it but nope,any ideas?as far as I know it does not have a remote start either,i have owned it for the last two years and it has never happened before.ps it is a lariant edition also .

If it actually started then it must have remote start installed and it somehow got triggered.

P.S. I don't know anything but this is all that makes sense to me.

f250 started by itself

yep,took lower dash panel off and there it was a remote start by auto command,previous owner must have forgot to mension it was there,somebody on the street must have a remote start with the same code.thanks for the reply

Remote start systema rock ... not.

Had the one in my Cherokee start itself and burn through 1/4 tank of gas before I relized

All of the ones I've had (OEM and afternarket) turn off after a period of time (ie: 15 minutes).

I can't find any identifying information for this one. It is aftermarket, cheap aftermarket. There is a pretty good parasitic draw coming from it too. Kills the battery if it sits for 2 weeks.

One of the previous owners had it installed. I'm just too afraid to attempt to remove it for fear that it will never start again.
