Piston rings
Got the cast parts back from the machine shop and they sure are purty!
So I'm making my shopping list and I'm trying to decide on cast iron rings (~$30) or Moly (~$65)
I've always used Moly, but this is a cheap build so I am considering the cast. I know the cast are generally used for slightly out of round bores because they are more malleable. I don't have an out of round issue.
Thoughts?

A Cheap engine build gets cheap parts. Plus Iron rings will seat fast and easier.
Right! So why throw in Moly rings on a low buck build.
The next failure, I can see would be exh. seats if not harden seats, not iron rings as iron rings have been around for yrs. doing good job with higher compression engines
