are you intending to replace the bearing or the entire hub assembly?
The hub assembly job is probably easier but is going to cost more than a new bearing kit.
I ask as $180 to $1,280 is an enormous price range for the job.
One other consideration, if one failed the other side may well be ready to
give up the ghost soon and you may need to look into doing both sides.

Just as a point of comparison, I had one **** itself too (in the middle of no-where in the Mexican desert no-less).
I bought a genuine Ford part for ~US$500 at the time.
I would not buy one that was not either Ford OEM or at least a highly reputable aftermarket manufacturer, as they are a unit bearing (replace entire assembly), you won't want to be in the middle of the Mexican or Australian desert when it fails.
It is a reasonably easy job to replace, I would also order the studs (makes the job a lot easier).

Hi guys,
I did both my F250 4WD front hubs 14 months ago. I just got online and ordered a pair of Raybestos 715056, was USD 568.68 delivered to my door ($154.79 each + 259.10 shipping) from RockAuto.
I chose the Raybestos as a quality US brand, but like many brands, they'd moved their manufacturing to China. So far no problems, but only time will tell if the Raybestos brand has kept their quality.
When I'm on the big lap I'll be taking my good take-off as a spare.
Bearing assembly change over is fairly easy - plenty of easy to follow guides around.
