Question 6.2L gas engine

I am looking at buying a 2011-2012 F250 with a 6.2L gas engine. what is the general consensus on this engine? good, bad, stay way?

Great
I replaced a 96 F350 w/7.3L with a 15 F350 6.2L and pull a 35 ft fifth wheel with it. It does a great job. Only complaint is mileage but I knew up front it wasn't an econ o box.

Imo The best gas motor for a super duty. Very little problems with this motor. Decent mpg. and great for towing! If you are use to a diesel it will feel different cause it likes to rev.

2011 Superduty supercab 4WD 6.2L that replaced a Dodge Hemi 5.7L Quad cab 2WD. My camper towing mileage went from the 8's mpg to 10 mpg. About 15% or so improvement.
Good power and decent mileage, so far, so good!! I always wanted a diesel pickup, but could not justify the difference in money. Maybe if I win the lottery....

6.2L gas engine

I love my 6.2 the savings on the diesel engine alone buys a lot of gas and not to mention the maintenance on them either. They are great don't get me wrong but my 6.2 rocks.

Happy with mine so far. I didn't need the diesel for my usage. Bet I can repower this truck for less than the cost of the diesel.

I had a 2013 F250 6.2L. Great truck and did a decent job pulling my 35 foot 11k fifth wheel. Mileage was between 6 and 9 MPG on average towing. Decided to trade it in for a 2014 F350 6.7L and couldn't be happier. Towing the same trailer I average 11 MPG.

have a 2015 with it and love it. There are times that i think it could be better but i dont think the motor is the problem, I personally think that there is way to much junk in the stock exhaust that is holding it back. A chip in the future and a replacement will help all that.

Get a 2012 with 4.30 rear end if you are going to tow. Early 2011s had transmission issues, but should be fixed by now. My only complaint is the soft rear leafs (only 2 leafs!), but that's a Super Duty problem, not engine. Fixing with an add a leaf.

Just curious - 2wd or 4wd - that is great gas mileage

Won't lie, when another Super Duty comes along next to me with the 6.7 with twice the torque, I feel a little inferior.

Will be interesting what the next generation gas engine brings. Hopefully over 400hp/450tq
