My 76' F100 currently has a 351m w C6 auto transmission in it, and I am putting in a 95' 302 from a F150. {Donor truck, and the recipient pictured side by side below.}

Will I need new mounts to put the 1995 302 in my 76? or... I could I simply cut the mounts off the 1995 donor truck, and weld them into my 76? I have an Oxy/Acet rig, and a MIG welder on hand if I needed it. WHats the best way to go here?

Also, looking for any information/expertise anyone has on the Transmission Cross Member as well to mount a 95' 4R70W / 302 into the 76'.

 

I have no idea on the engine mounts but you have all the parts sitting there and the tools too so I would think you could make it work.

 

Just curious why would you pull a 351m for a 302?

 

Stock for stock the '95 302 out powers the 351m from any year.

However, a '76 should still be running either a 302 or a 360/390 as OEM. Wasn't the 351M/400 intro'd in trucks in '77?
