The guy I got it from was going to give it to my buddy (his girl friends son) to stick his 302 supercharged in it so it is possible my buddy already did the upgrade. Not sure I will have to talk to my buddy next time I see him.

Messed with the truck this morning and that tranny x-member is a pita to get out. I have an idea of how it will look when I am done cutting and welding it. We will see how that x-pipe looks probably Friday. These 12 hour work days gotta stop. Seems like every time I start a project my work thinks I need to be there 70 hours a week.
I've been working on the x-member in my "spare time " it looks like it will work but I am not happy with the small amount of weld I can put on it I will need to do some bracing to keep the motor from tearing it up. And look more factory
I got the x-member in the truck. I didn't shoot any pics. I still have to pull it out and paint it up I will shoot pics then. The fox body exhaust fits up in there nice. Better than it did on my wife's car. So how are people running dual exhaust with the front tank in the way.
Someone did a thread a while back on it and a bunch of guys answered and a few showed how they set it up so they could even put the tank back in at a later date. Someone might chim in with an answer, if not then look around the forum or google the topic some. I might see if I can find something myself when I get the time.
I will have do a search. My thought was to buy a new fuel filter and take a nipple off of old filter and weld it shut. Plug it into the quick connect but the return side might be a bit more difficult.
If you mean the fule filter on the frame rail then do NOT plug that off as it is your main supply for fuel for both thanks. Best way to my knowlegde is to find some kind of quick connect that re attaches back to the stock lines for the front tank and to just make two little block offs that connect and make a tight leak free fit. After that just tie the lines out of the way and drop the tank and there you go problem solved. Or if you have no plans to put the tank back ever I think you could weld or solder or crimp them shut if you know what you are doing and have no fuel or fuel vapor in the lines.
