Had it on my super duty's and now on my Fjuan. I love it. I find the step to be especially useful when sittin on the bed, it makes a nice foot rest.

I have it on my Super Duty and use it all the time. Too bad it's the older style. The new F150 step is a better design. I'm thinking of adding the AMP Research step to my F150.

I had it on my 2011 F150 and have it on my 2014 F250, I love it. I think the new redesign is even better with the stripper pole stowed in the tailgate, the handle on both of mine has taken a beating, but I haven't had any issues other than that. All future trucks that I purchase will have that option, as long as Ford keeps offering it.

We have the box side steps. Greatest thing since sliced bread!

I think the tailgate step is dumb though. The bumper steps on the Chevies is clever and simple. Exactly what you need on a work truck.

Except for that poorly engineered step cover that snags on stuff you may be pulling out of the bed...

Good point. I'll be putting a plastic tailgate liner on to help with that and for things to slide easy across the tailgate.

I have arthritis in both knees and my right foot, for me the tailgate step is a must have on my next one. I'm seriously thinking about installing an aftermarket step on my '06. I've had a friend tease me for it calling it a "lady step." He can tease me all he wants, he doesn't live in this body. I actually fractured a toe a few years back from hopping out of the back of my truck with the tailgate still up. Nowadays I take it slow and easy if I need to get in and out of the truck bed! LOL

I saw a listing for a "FORD F150 PLATINUM PICKUP TRUCK OEM TAILGATE STEP COMPLETE W/ HARDWARE 2015" on EBay when I first bought my truck. It sold for 499.99 (wish I had bought it!) Now all I can find are complete tailgates with step already in it....oh well, add it to the wish list I guess.

I am 66 years old and I went for the tailgate steps and love it. Very easy to use and my friends want them for there truck. Also factory sprayed liner and Ford's folding be cover. Go for it it is worth it ,bed side steps also!

I believe the tailgate is already made for the tailgate step system.

I have arthritis in my knees and I just ordered a new 2016 Lariat with side steps and tailgate step. I'm REALLY looking forward to having these handy things! I was using a small stepladder with my 2010 I just traded in.

Tail Gate step

I have an '15 F-150 Platinum Super Crew short box. The tail gate step and assist arm I use all the time when getting into the box. Since I have a "ARE" topper on the truck bed I find the assist steps on each side behind back doors are worthless to me, but they were on the truck when I bought it.

Anything I *slide* into or out of the bed seems to pop that stupid plastic piece up/off. I can usually pop it back in place, but it's only a matter of time before it disappears forever. They really could have put a rounded edge or something on it so it didn't catch on everything. That being said, I still love my step.

None of the dealers in my area seem to have any with the tailgate step, or the side box steps either. I see very few of the 11-14 models or Super Duties with the tailgate step, either. If I want either, which I do, I'll probably need to place an order or have them locate one.
