Price of a 51 F1 cab?

What's a reasonable price to pay for a 51 F1 cab with no rust thru holes? No glass, wiring, seat or gas tank. Seller was asking $1200

Seems pretty high to me....but I'm sure a rust free cab in the eastern US is a pretty rare thing.
By comparison, I have a nice '52 cab(only rust in the cab corners) for sale with glass, seat and everything else I'd sell for $500 all day long...
Transport would be costly though. Location, location..........

You can get a whole truck for that money. But like Scott said, location, etc. I'll sell you this one for $150. The shipping won't be anywhere near the difference. Or if you want a whole truck, I can do that, too.

Hey Crager,
Looking for a good solid cab can be frustrating - so for me it's all about how frustrated you are at this point. Here in Texas I would expect to pay $800 or so if I'm away from a major metropolitan area maybe a tad less.

In the big picture of the total cost of building one of these old trucks - the $400 price difference between the $1200 he's asking & what I'd expect to pay $800.... It's not meaningful.

See if you can get him to budge & if you are frustrated then buy it & move to the next rock. I spent 5x that much just screwing up transmissions...

Good luck over there in North Carolina! Show us what you are working with when you get a chance.
