crossmember insulator

I have a 84 f250 and one crossmember insulator that is almost flat. I know they are obsolete and I heard about using hockey pucks but I can not find anything in the forums. Can somebody help?

I don't remember anyone having used anything else. However, I do remember having eyeballed the insulators on my crossmember and realizing that the new ones I have for either the radiator or cab support are the same size. And, I mentioned that somewhere in some thread - but can't find it.

I can look today to see if I can recreate that realization and tell you which one might work. Will that help?

That would be great. I read a lot of forums and there was several mentions of using Hockey Pucks but no info on actually using them.

I would think pucks would be too hard. Anyway, I'll check what I have today.

The insulators are still available. LMC truck has them for purchase as separate pieces as needed.

Most "insulators" and body mounts(including motor mounts) have a stud molded into the rubber when it's made. Running a bolt all the way through with a nut on the other side, whether it's rubber, a hockey puck, or whatever, defeats the purpose. The noise and vibration will transmit right through the bolt that is going all the way through.

I bought this set from JBG in 2012; they've apparently expanded their selection to include other parts; sleeves, etc.

Body Mount Bushings, Ford Truck, Black-Broncograveyard.com

Search "body mount" on their website and you can see it all --
