cat. conv. removal

Ok bone stock 1988 Ford f250 460 4x4. Removing the cat. Cause sound and clogged up reasons. . The two pipes coming out the top what needs done to them and where do they lead.

OK so found some old threads and found out about the air pump and other stuff. But what all do I need to remove and what will I have to Cove up due to holes. What are the advantages and disadvantages to removing.

You can remove the smog pimp/air system without any problems. Get a delete pulley for the pump itself, remove all hoses and plug any holes in exhaust hoses connected to

As mentioned above you can delete the air pump if you wish. It doesn't really have much drag, so there's not Very much to be gained by doing so. Some people prefer to just have it gone and clean up the space. The two tubes your referring to can be either left cut free (it's just air being sent through them) or piped into your new exhaust. Don't cap them off, the pressure build up will sputter through a valve up under the hood
