DP Tuner F5 Stock

Can anyone tell me how to set the F5 to stock. According to what i have written down from the previous owner, my F5 has 80 HP tow, 60 HP econ, 80 HP econ, Decel, and Hi-Idle. I am having some issues trying to read PERDEL readings in AE ( they are all 0.00) and wanted to try to do it in stock setting? I thought about pulling the tuner off of the PCM to test but i also have Casserly Stage 1 single shot injectors and read that i must have a tune to run those?

Typically stock is position 1. Not sure about the F5 but I would assume position 0 is no-start.

I don't know how much history they maintain on their customers, but DP-Tuner might be able to tell you all the settings if you can provide enough information. Can't hurt to ask them atleast.

If nothing else, you can always send it back and have them tell you what is what. They only charge if you modify a tune. At least that's been my experience.

The F5 doesn't have a separate or bona fide "stock" position. If it's not programmed onto the chip somewhere, the ONLY way to go back to the calibration flashed on the PCM is to remove the device.

Are we assuming your stock PCM was not flashed for single shots?

Yes. I would assume if the PCM were flashed for the injectors, he wouldn't have had the tuner installed but I really don't know. I am new to diesels and I am just trying to learn as much as I can without destroying anything.

What some here have done is; They will have the PCM flashed to run the singe shots. That way if a problem develops with the chip, it can be removed and you will still have a reliable truck. The chip gives you various settings other than just stock.

But you can have the the chip set up to run single shots with out having the PCM flashed. However if you remove the chip the truck will run, just not well.

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I will try to get ahold of DP Tuner and see what they have on record. If I just disconnect it from the PCM to see if it runs will that do any harm?

with the DP F5, Jody normally sets 0 as no start, and 1 as stock.

Mine was set as
0 -No start
1 - OEM
2 - 80 Tow
3 - 80 econo.

What you can do is contact DP TUner with the VIN of the truck and if possible the previous owner's name.
They can look up how it was programmed.

I got the tunes from DP Tuner and have 80 tow, 60 Econ, 80 Econ, Decel, high Idle. I wanted to know if I disconnected the tuner would it be stock? Maybe the PCM is tuned to stock or would it be something different? I'm just trying to get perdel readings with AE. I don't thing my truck would be 0.00 on all cylinders but I could be wrong.

Surprising. DP Offers a Stock Tune for no additional charge when you order it.

I would remove the chip.

Yes it will... so long as it is the original PCM it will.
The tuner chip just overrides what the PCM sets so if you unplug it from the PCM, it should be all stock.
Just be sure to leave the keys in the house or in your pocket before you unplug the chip.
