Is there a difference between 2wd and 4wd pitman arms?

Hey guys, restoring my 96 250 4x4 to stock height and I went to the junk yard to get a pitman the other day. I got it home and saw it says "4x2" on it in the ford factory casting...

Just wondering if this will work on my truck.

Thanks. I've got a buddy with a 4wd and will try to measure his and report back. I found a couple arms online that supposedly fit 2wd and 4wd but I don't trust everything online. Anyone perhaps that has done a 4wd swap got direct observation of these arms?

From top, smallest is from a 2wd. First 4 stamped are E7TA. Next is from a HD f250 4x4, E5TA stamped. Finally the lower is a dropped arm that was on with the lift kit.

2wd and 4wd side by side. Dimensions and offset look identical. But the 4wd arm is way beefier. If not concerned about flex, it seems one could use either.

You would be surprised what that little 1/4" longer will do

Center to center looked the same but there was an extra 1/4" of meat in the 4wd one.
