I replaced the IAC today and noticed the inside of the intake manifold gasket looks like it has moisture and grime stuck to it all the way down. The outside is clean and looks fine. Is this normal? Maybe it's because I clean the engine once a year and just don't get in there. The engine is running good after the new IAC and cleaning the MAF.

spray brakleen or carb cleaner at the seam, thatll detect an air leak (your idle will raise as it sucks the chemical in).




misewell test the lower with the same trick, that way you can tackle both gaskets while youre removing the tsunami.

 

I blew some propane on it and it didn't do anything. Should I fix it now or is it ok to wait until it causes a problem?

 

Fine to wait. Prob been leakin for 5 years or more.
