I got an 87 302 Eddie Bauer Bronco. Just curious what the advertised tow capacity and payload is for it. I did a search and couldn't find anything. Thank you much.

 

You forgot to mention what transmission, and axle gearing your 302-powered Bronco EB has, but here is what I found out from the 1987 fullsize Bronco Owner's Manual : 302/ 5-speed/3.55:1 ratio(s) : maximum suggested trailer towing weight is listed as 4,000lbs. For the 302/automatics(C-6 & AOD)/3.55:1 maximum suggested trailer towing weight is listed as 7,700 lbs. For the 302/AOD/4.10:1 combination, suggested maximum trailer towing weight is listed as 8,000 lbs.

 

Are those #s close to or the same for 82 models. Mine has a 302, C6 tranny and 3.55 gears.
I usually haul a 1948 for 8N tractor w/ shredder, on a 16ft. tandem axle trailer that weghs about 1500 pounds or so.
I shredd fields on my spare time for a little exra money.

I'm not sure about the 1982 Bronco's tow ratings. Stock, I don't think the 302-2V would have the same towing capacities as the later EFI302s. I don't have a '82 Bronco Owner's Manual, but that's where you'd find the towing capacities for them. You can probably still buy one through Helm,Inc. (www.helminc.com),or pick up a used one on ebay. In the 1982 Bronco factory brochure, it lists a HD Trailer Towing Package, but doesn't list the equipment included in it.
