Isn't it a wonder how people can deceive!? And yet, the potential buyer is going to come and look at it, so if they build his/her hopes up the fall is great. What are they thinking?
However, maybe the truck looks good to him? In other words, his standards are that low - and that is scary.

Folks are peculiar, that's for sure. In all honesty, I wouldn't have taken that truck for free. I'm not kidding. I don't think there was a single aspect of it that was salvageable, and it would have been a major investment, many thousands of dollars just to get it in good running condition.
Still can't figure that missing hood spring... I scored a good pair at a JY a few years ago, and remember the battle to remove 'em. Then I fought that battle again getting the rusty pair off of Festus.
And I didn't make a single mark on my Checklist - that's how quickly I knew it was a no-go!

(J6), that sweet red beauty, appears to have a new owner.
But this popped up... folks talk about an "old" truck restoration. Wonder if you could ever get back what you put into restoring THESE?

They'd make for some fantastic yard art.
Speaking of which, there's some property up the mountain that's been uninhabited for several years. The owner finally passed in a nursing home, and there was a burst of activity while the heirs cleaned it up to sell. There had been a fine old Ford flatbed in the tall grass, probably from the 50s, with a lumbermill logo on the doors. Orange cab. I couldn't make out the wording, but could definitely see the word "lumber". I never got a good look at it, and since I'm not a fan of being shot at, I never poked around up there, and didn't have any contact info for those heirs. But that truck looked like just the thing to park in a corner of my property, a vintage piece of Colorado automotive history.
So one day it was suddenly gone, and I saw some fellas up there and drove over to say howdy. I asked what they got for the Ford, and they said nothing, they paid to have it hauled off to the scrap yard.
I hear the current price for scrap is $80/ton.
