86 f150- 302 SMOKES OIL . valve Seals??

86 F150 , PCV is new and rubber is clean. The truck smokes bad at idle , thick white/ blue smoke . definately burning oil . dont smell any coolant .
Its smokes bad at white out the stop light but when you start driving it stops or seems like it burns up , next stop light starts barreling smoke again, my buddy says valve seals no biggie we might do them later today... but does it sound about right? 82K on the clock .

Could be valve seals, could be worn rings? Do a compression test... that will tell some about the "health" of the engine.

What weight oil do you use and how long has it been since the last change?

So, it smokes at idle. Does it smoke on deceleration as well? how long does it have to sit for it to start smoking again at a stop?
