Pro: they don't crumple when you hit things, so you don't have to buy a new one every fall after the rut.

Con: they don't crumple when you hit things, so you can screw up the frame easier.

I'm all for it, my Ranch Hand is the best thing I've put on my truck.

Love some aftermarket bumpers. would want to actually see that one finished and coated.

The lock boxes are something different to have. Not sure I would want those. Just another key to keep up with, and can't be as secure as putting stuff elsewhere.

And why are there bushings in the tow eyes. One time of actually using them would surely mess them up.

Otherwise it looks good and clean.

My personal view is YES. I like many of the aftermarket options available for both front and rear as replacements.

Yes, I can see a purpose for installing one or both if justified.

Yes, I can see at some point the court system will be dealing with a liability law suite dealing with someone having replaced a factory OEM bumper with an I-Beam tough bumper getting involved in an accident. And this extra stout tough bumper caused extended damage resulting in physical damage or death of another individual which would not have occurred had the stock factory OEM bumper been left in place.

Yes, I can see somewhere down the road that the government will outlaw replacing any piece of a car, truck or vehicle that has been mandated to meet government crumple test guidelines.

I run aftermarket bumpers, both seem heavier then stock.

Dunno where you live, but up here I could see those boxes getting full salty grime in the winter.

I really like those boxes. Seems like a perfect place to keep stuff like ropes, chains, tie downs...

I ran a Road Armor on the front of my '08 and loved it - 15,000 lb winch, lights - it was sweet! The back remained stock. That one you're showing is the (IMO) nicest looking rear bumper I've seen! Do it!

You don't ever have to worry about getting hit from behind anymore unless it's a big rig.

Seriously though, HD bumpers just give the truck a different feel and offer a lot more protection. Additionally, they can offer a lot other features such as winch mounts, light mounts, hooks etc that a stock bumper doesn't support.

I'm not sure I like the GM type steps on the ends of the bumper. Otherwise it's a nice looking bumper.

the bumper is a local custom made one off. price is about 20% higher than what you can get on the internet. The internet offerings I found have free ship. So this particular one, priced itself out of reach.

good points on krinlke impact ratings and probable libilities if someone rear ends me.....its going to be my fualt that they did not walk away from running into the back of my truck.

The original with the built in lockboxes in the bumper is from ADD called the Honey Badger, It does not; however, have the steps on the end that this model shows. it runs about $1900. I would be curious if the compartments could be weatherized, since (as mentioned) the insides could get awfully nasty and end up ruining tools or the likes that are kept inside.

I like, but ... my concern is always about added weight = reducing available payload.

Payload is a secondary concern when Bambi is sliding towards your face across the hood
