Trust the Oil Life %

If you're that concerned, maybe you should look at running a 2 micron bypass filter and a vapor catch can for the PCV. I won't be doing the former, but the latter is already on the way. Those nasty PCV vapors I think really need to be addressed, and has the added benefit of keeping the intake clean and the condensation out of the CAC.

I like changing it the first time a bit early, then about every 7,000 miles with full synthetic. But really, have any of y'all boys ever known of an engine failure due to oil failure? For people who change oil/filter at least every 10,000 miles I mean.
I think the '49 Plymouth I learned to drive on, me Dad changed it about every 1,500 miles. That'd be detergent oil, please, 30w. Me old haid has to change...

I think anyone that changes their oil out at 5K and is running a full synthetic oil should have their head examined. IMO The whole reason for synthetic oils is less friction, higher tolerance to thermal breakdown, and longer oil change intervals. Anyone that has used straight synthetic oil knows they can basically double or maybe triple their run time due to those conditions. (depending on how much towing they are doing)
These oil topics can go on and on and have done so on every forum I have ever frequented. The best way to see if you are getting your money's worth is to send in some samples to be analyzed and compare the two. Run full synthetic and see what the results are and then follow up with the MC blend and compare the results. I am willing to bet if I have been told to run 11,000 miles on a synthetic blend that a full synthetic should last up to 20,000. (under normal driving conditions).

First you start off with something about "head examined."
Second you go into a repeat of your previously stated opinion. I have heard from reliable sources that changing your oil more often gets the dirt out of an engine and increases the engine life due to decreased wear. I really hope you will read what other people say instead of saying the same thing over and over.
When synthetics first came out they were sold "change less." There were numerous problems and they got fixed. I thought the best thing you can do is to get the impurities out and the filter doesn't get the chemical ones either. Thirty five years later and the debate continues. The marketing people promote, while I am interested in what is best. The 95 sits right next to the 14 in the driveway.
