Oil Drain Plug

Does anybody know what size the drain plug is on the 5.4?
I'd like to get a Fumoto style quick drain plug before I do an oil change.
Or, does anybody here have a source for said plug??

Thxs

Do you mean these?
Fumoto Valve | Qwik Valve™

I haven't tried them, but I have been thinking about it.

When I was looking for something similar---mostly to avoid oil spills in my drive way ---I found these: Unique Truck Equipment

While the Fumoto stuff is nice I didn't care for the potential risk some road hazard shearing it off and disabling the van for the moment. The Quick-Changers present a much lower profile and exposure to such things, they've very close to the same size as the factory drain plugs.

I liked them so much also installed one in my 4R70W trans pan too.

All IMHO ya understand............

I've not seen those before.
Very interesting!
Is it like an air hose connection?

Not so much----its just a "dry break" connection, the type used in aviation and hydraulic systems. When apart the pan-mounted part doesn't allow flow even with the protective cap removed. Only when the mating drain part is threaded onto the pan part does flow begin.

I like this over the Fumoto as its in my mind the lower profile along with the manner in which draining is accomplished makes for a safer replacement system for less messy driveway oil changes.

Well, I too was not like king the positioning of the Fumoto valve.
It just didn't sit well. The ones in my last two trucks hung straight out of the bottom and I was comfortable with them. This one, not so much.
I may try the other next oil change.
