Pics of rear fender braces, please

I can't figure out how these braces attach to the bed. I thought they connected to the bolt on the end of the crossmember, but it's in the wrong place. Can someone post pics of the bed-end attachment? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Charlie. What is the upper end attached to? Is it a dedicated bolt or one of the ones for crossmember?

Here's one from a 1950 Ford F1.

Ross,
I just took a pic of my 49. The brace bolts to the lower bed side, below the level of the bed floor. The braces fit with the "U" shape either facing up or down. I mounted mine with the legs of the "U: facing down so that they wouldn't collect dirt.

Ross,
Here's the right side. I don't think I ever had this brace off.

It is one of the bolts that mounts the bedside to the wood floor plank.

This is what mine would look like; not one of the bedside-to-wood bolts, in between that one and the crossmember. Bobby, your early-style bed must extend down further than the late style bed. I've lived without the braces for 10 years, I need to do something about it. Thanks guys!

On a 50 F1 late production smooth bedside from a top-side view, the bolt is about 17.5 inches in from the tailgate, and is oddly spaced compared to the other bolts. See the photos below, which is my attempt to show where it is, as viewed from the top. Just a different perspective, but the odd spacing is also visible from below and it is about even with the leaf spring hanger.

Thanks Mike, it confirms I need to add a bolt. My bedside lower flanges had to be replaced (rotten) and when I made new ones, I clearly forgot to make a hole for those.

Ross,
I forgot that you had the later flat sided bed.
Its crazy that Ford would make that odd spacing for the brace.

At any rate, yea, you better get them on there, you don't want to go around with floppy fenders....lol
