Lightbulb improving performance and drivability

Hi i have two IDI diesels a 1990 6.9L f150 2wd and a 1991 f250 4x4 my dad bought them new when i was a baby and garaged them till i was old enough to drive, and now i own the pair. most my friends drive newer trucks and drive circles around me in the mud( i always pull them out lol). so how can i get my truck to at least keep up. their both have banks turbos and 4 inch exhaust kits, im putting out 195 hp at 3,000 rpms and just over 400 Ft/Lbs torque at 1300 rpms. ide like to match early powerstrokes and put out 215 hp and 435 ft/lbs of torque.

You should visit R&D's site and pick what you want. Put in a high performance IP and run cowl induction. There are lots of things you can do. Just throw down the money.

Timing and fuel are the key here. Make sure it's not clattering high-up in the revs under load(retard it a bit) and crank the fuel all the way up.

Also, get a R&D RD2-110. That 4K+ rev limiter is great, and the extra fuel high up is nice too.

your 190/400 is to the ground. A first gen powerstroke is 250/4xx at the crank or roughly the same as you to the ground. idiperformance.com for better go fast parts.

if i turn my fuel up two notches it starts blowing smoke so i cant get much more fuel into the motor. should the injectors or fuel pump be changed to get rid of the smoke

How about a boost gauge? Do you have the wast gated Banks? There are upgrades you can do to your turbo, but I don't know specifics. Better wheels are available. You can add an inter cooler to bring egt's down, then add more fuel.
