Hi I am new here hoping to get some help here. I have a 2002 ford f250 it has a 5.4 with a 4r100. The original transmission only had foward. So I got a used low mileage transmission from a local junkyard in a truck I drove the truck down the road to make sure all was good. I removed my old transmission and put the newer one in. Hooked it all up filled with atf. I started the truck and it has a grinding noise coming from starter area. The starter is not hanging up. But appears to that the gear is rubbing the flywheel I can see where it rubs and such. I went on to shim it out I put a flat washer on each bolt between the starter and bellhousing. The noise seemed to get worse! I need help. I just bought the truck it's going to be a plow truck so I can park my 03 arizona 7.3 for the winters. Please help!
