Suspension and Economy

Hey all,

a bit new here so please excuse the ignorance about two questions about me new 2002 V10 excursion XLT, haven't seen it yet but it is being picked up in a week or so.

Looking to know if I should be upgrading the springs as some of the reading I have been doing suggests so. I will be mainly using it for highway trips with bird dogs, and a medium load.

Also have been seeing that 5 star tuning does some interesting work as well as Banks for the V10 so wondering about some economical gains with mapping or exhaust work.

All your advise and replies are very much appreciated in advance.

Thank again.

Paul

Well 5star is definitely something you will want. As far as the headers and exhaust it's up to you. The springs might need to be refreshed though, how many miles, and where in Canada are you?

I have Banks Exhaust and 5 Star Tunes on mine. Honestly I did the exhaust because I had so many broken studs and decided to go after market - the tunes were added later. The headers/tunes do improve performance but not significantly unless you are towing.
