1993 f150 frame swap

Hi all,
I need to swap the frame on my single cab long bed. Can I swap the frame from another vehicle? I really need it to ride smooth and it won't be carrying too much weight. I was thinking some Lincoln or caddy might make a smoother ride, but maybe a newer f150 frame? My dads 2013 f150 rides better than my bosses Towncar. I know 'anything will work with time and money' but seriously, what comes pretty close?

I hate to be blunt but your question is rediculous. Yes anything can be done but doing so will completely destroy any functionality your truck has as a truck so you may as well just go buy an old caddy or Lincoln if that is the ride you want.

Why not put the right frame under it and put air bags on it...the suspension is what you are seeking. Modifying a F150 frame for an air suspension has to be light years easier then modifying an different frame for your truck...

Question for the people who answered this post: My 1990 2x4 F150's frame has a lot of rust on it and I want to swap it out. Is the only way to do that with the same frame or could I use a Bronco, 4x4 F150, or 250 frame? The truck is a two door, short bed, which are irritatingly hard to find in this area. Thanks.

You HAVE to use another regular cab short bed frame. NOTHING else will work. What that means F150 frame only

Okay, will it matter if the "donor" frame was a 4x4?

The OP has a 93, so he needs a 92-96 frame, or he could use a 80-91 and build custom bumper brackets.

You can use an f150 2x4 or 4x4. Bronco is too short.

Back on topic

So the reason I'm asking is I live in the rust belt. Finding an identical frame sucks to begin with. Also, I don't want to strip a perfectly good truck to fix my beater due to sentimental value. Any idea in how much having a frame built would cost? Pickup frames are dumb simple, so if you had the jigs I'm sure it would be an easy build.

It's 2wd with an open rear already. I'm not losing much as long as it doesn't lose too much ground clearance. I would put helper bags for hauling. The ride was pretty bad to start.

If it's sentimental, buy another truck and swap. Look at junk yards and Craigslist with trucks with blown engines and such.
