Cowl to rear of Hood Seal ?

Does anyone know if new roof to cowl seals are available for a '79' F150? After viewing most of the gallery, I noticed that no one had replaced it.

I am not picturing what your asking.

The cowl is the area where the "vents" next to the windshield wiper posts sit, I believe..

Thanks for the reply...the roof to cowl seal is a weather stripping that snaps into the cowl area or upper firewall area, depending on how you call it. When the hood is closed it is compressed to seal out weather. JC Whitney offers one for GM but I haven't found any for Ford.

Ahhhh, the HOOD to cowl seal....

Many have replaced them, they fail quickly again.

The ROOF is the top of the cab above the windows.

The roof is roof >
The Firewall is a firewall.
That weather-stripping has been replaced 3 times in my trucks life.
After getting only 3 or 4 hood openings & closings, I decided it is a waste of money.

Hood to cowl seal....I can't believe I posted roof. I must be losing it. . If anyone knows where I can get one, thanks. I might be wasting my time and money but would like to restore this truck after neglecting it for 19 years.

I beleive *** truck carries every seal there is on the truck. CHeck out there website at http://www.********.com/ you might have to request a catalog I dont know if there parts are online. Just a note, my Bronco has been missing that seal since I got it, and the only time it seemed to be a problem is when I put an open element air cleaner on it and the rain got on it when it was parked for a few weeks an mildewed the paper. I got a K&N filter and the water doesnt seem to bother it (just gets damp in the very back where the water can leak on it).

I just ordered one from *** truck and my advice is don't. It was not the right shape, hard to put in, and did not let the hood shut properly(pinched). I took it off and ordered one from ****** ********* reproductions and it fits and works perfectly. By the way, tell me again why we can't say ********. ????

Those companies are considered competitors. Which I think is total BS. Yes this site does sell parts, but to not be able to post other sites is ridiculous. I mean, would they let us post about those companies if we were bashing them and praising Motorhaven??? This is supposed to be Ford Truck Enthusiasts website. Not Motorhaven truck parts monopoly site. I'll probably get banned for this.

Thanks....I found that cowl lacing at some reprod. co. in N.C...probably the one you mean. They have a forum too and most likely have the same policy. I will have to order one.

This was an unreasonable statement.
There are MANY companies that are allowed to be mentioned on FTE!
Maybe look a lot closer to the text ?

Does *** have a FREE tech page ?

No it doesn't.

Ever heard of returning the favour ?
If our online store doesn't sell anything Then You lose all the tech info
Last I heard Garages/dealersship's cost $80/hour.

And for your information, there are only TWO companies that can't be mentioned and that is a personal thing which I won't go into.

Here's something to ask *** next time you talk to them.

Ask them why they Won't pay for advertising on FTE since ther are so many people who want to cheer lead for them?

Is one of those two companies Ford Motor Company?

Seems like the Ford Dealership is giving out free info all the time. If they don't, they get a phone call from Ford Customer Service.

From what I can tell, it looks like Motorhaven sells genuine Ford parts with a markup.

I hate to say it, because I've never bought anything from Motorhaven, and I don't want to pass judgement on them, but I think it would be beneficial to find someone at the Ford dealership that is willing to "hook you up" with a deal on parts.

Does Motorhaven give discounts to frequent customers? I know Ford Dealerships do.

By the way, feel free to kick me off this site too. I'm here to help patrons fix their trucks, not to help the sponsor gouge the customers.
