Fuel starvation

I was traveling the turnpike yesterday and when I went up to 70 MPH the engine acted like it was starving for fuel. The engine did not quit but I did notice a loss of power. I did not have a cloud of blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe. I have changed the fuel filter- not black crud in the bowl. Would partially clogged fuel screens in the tank cause this? The fuel pump has been replaced and the hoses changed. I rebuilt the fuel-bowl and cleaned the screens. The CPS also has been replaced. Please give me some suggestions.

The screen in the tank is only small enough to catch logs, etc. LOL If you clogged that I would say you really got a lot of crap someplace.

Is the oil at the proper level?

Check fuel pressure at speed and see if it is holding. You may have to get a gauge with hose long enough to temp tape to the windshield.then go drive it under actual conditions.

Do you have a chip?

When was your last oil change? Are you using the correct oil?
