TILT RELEASE ON '90 F53

I have a 1990 class A motorhome, 460, AT, F53 chassis. Where is the release lever for the steering wheel tilt? I think it might be causing a 'no crank' problem with my ign switch. The only things I can see on the column are the turn signal lever, the hazard switch & the key release.

if i remember correctly, the blinker switch lever is also the tilt lever. i am pretty sure you pull the lever toward you to unlock the tilt assembly.

That's gotta be it. Thanks. It's jammed and will not release. Also the metal rod to the ignition switch seems to be jammed against the lower dash. I'm off to Harbor Freight for a wheel puller.

You push the turn signal lever forward to adjust the tilt wheel… be gentle.

I got it unstuck. I removed the turn signal lever and used a screwdriver to push the part shown in this picture. Thanks for your help.

Locked steering column

I have a different problem: I have replaced my ignition switch with a new one and the matching key, but I can't get my steering column to unlock. I'm sure it's something pretty simple, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Davie, did you match up the alignment pin holes on the key cylinder & the ign switch?
