Clarksville is across the river from Louisville, Ky. I'm west of Indianapolis about 2 hours.
There not leaking but I want to change them while it's torn down. I might change the 3rd/4th gear fork anyway, it's a little worn on the 3rd gear side.

Actually I did need to be corrected. I must have dragged the cursor a tad when I was clicking on the parts list for the fork the other day. It's heck when I'm typing and my wholesale phone lights up. I get in a bit of a hurry.

Finally got off my butt and finished the M5R2 rebuild. I had to put a hole in the tailshaft housing for the speedo cable but first I had figure out where the hole needed to be placed.
I made a fixture to mimic the speedo gear inside the housing.
So I could touch off of it and figure out where the final hole placement needs to be.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_27" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
I touched off the rough hole in the casting to get an approximate location of where the hole needed to be placed. I cleaned up the casting surface and drilled a small hole so I could locate the position of the fixture.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_28" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
Next I bored the the final hole..... Freightrain, I was within a few thousandths of the rough hole in the casting.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_29" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
Bored, drilled and tapped.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_30" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
This is where I started saying bad words. When I checked how well the gears meshed, I found out the OD and ID of the gear was not concentric.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_31" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
I had to make an improvised collet to hold the gear while I bored out the gear so I could press in a bushing.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_32" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
Turned the bushing and pressed them together.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_33" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
Since I couldn't use the ball to retain the gear I just drilled a hole in the flange of the bushing so I could use a roll pin to holed the gear.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_34" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
All of the parts ready to be assembled.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_35" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>
When you get the countershaft, input shaft and tail shaft in just the right position and it just falls together.
<table id="ncode_imageresizer_warning_36" class="ncode_imageresizer_warning" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td class="td1" width="20"></td><td class="td2">This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1200x800.</td></tr></tbody></table>

I should have just looked for a pre '92 tailhousing but I like to work with what I've got, and I'm lazy. Thanks Pat.
Just for you Zack.....
I did manage to get a nice doe this season, it was a team effort. I crutched out to my ground blind and my wife carried my chair and my bow. A buddy of mine gutted it, loaded it up in the tractor, took it back to the house and then quartered it for me. I am very lucky to have great friends and a terrific wifey! She also helped me process it.
PS That workbench can also be used for working on transmissions.
Thank you. I can't wait to see your door panel surprise.
LOL! That shaft was case hardened so I had to use some solid carbide center drill magic before I could drill it.Thanks for the kind words your highness.

Wow. Spectacular work. I have to pull my tailshaft and reattach my speedo gear. The clip I used failed(in the first 1/2 mile I drove it). I should have used a snap ring like a toploader has. My fault. You won't have that problem!
I used a carbide ball endmill to spotface mine for the clip I used.
