Question of the Week: 2014 or 2017 Raptor?

For our newest Question of the Week, we want to know which Raptor F150 you would buy if you were shopping right now. Would you pick the 2014 Raptor with the V8 engine, 6-speed transmission and steel body or the 2017 Raptor with the V6 EcoBoost engine, a 10-speed transmission and the new aluminum body?

Make your pick in the poll above and tell us why in the thread below!

This is funny - the same old discussion under a different guise. A V8 & 6-speed in a steel body, representing old-school, vs a new-school turbo'd V6 & a 10-speed wrapped in aluminum.

Except now Ford is saying they will offer both the V6 and V8 for 2017. Of course that announcement was on April Fool's day!!!

I'd go 2017 on a Raptor......despite going 2014 on regular F150 for now, I think it's gonna be worth the wait for the 10 speed transmission

Specifically referencing the aluminum body, it has been proven it won't dent as easily as steel. Anyone who is purely concerned about dents with the aluminum is severely un/mis informed.

There are just too many unknowns yet. The 2017 sounds intriguing but I reckon I will wait and see more details, reviews, and reports. I will keep my 250 for a couple or three years more, then see where things stand.
Right now I tend to favor the 2017, but it seems that things never turn out to be exactly as initially thought.
