New to me '13 XLT
So our tired old minivan will be moving on. Replacing it with a '13 XLT certified pre owned 38k miles. Leather, nav, power gate, blindspot and pretty much everything that an XLT can have I think. 2.0 ecoboost 2wd.
Decided on an Explorer on Saturday and after nearly a week of hunting I couldn't find a better deal than my local dealer had. Finally nailed down the numbers this morning on the phone but only had enough time this evening to put a deposit on it until tomorrow.
Sad part is that my wife will be the main driver of it. I'm going to be a little jealous but I guess she will let me wash it for her.
Kind of bummed out there is only a few pages of posts here on this vehicle but maybe that's a good thing. Must not be too many issues going on. I have a 96 F-150 that I could read about for months over in that section.
So has anyone installed their own overhead DVD in one of these? I figure I could save enough to make the first payment doing that myself instead paying a stereo shop.

I think because this is listed as a ford-trucks.com forum, the other than truck traffic is slower... there are other Explorer forums, but some devoted to older ones...
When the wife picked the 13 Sport for the looks (having come from a 2L turbo Audi)
it was the only trim level that had the 3.5 ecoboost and I wasn't 'opposed' to the power for the few times I drove it

I see this post was started in April and the OP asked about DVD, but just FYI, right after we bought our 14 limited I installed the headrest DVD myself. Dealer wanted over $2k. I bought the Ford unit (not actually made by Ford) and it was all plug and play. Pretty simple, just run the wires through the seat and under the carpet. The wiring plugs right in to the factory harness under the dash. Took me an hour probably??? Less than $1k in it so I saved more than 50% and its worth every penny with kids on a long trip. You can get cheaper aftermarket players but I wanted to make sure the leather matched and everything looked factory. The overhead DVD's arent real common anymore, its mostly the headrests.
