Question Another CCV Re-Route Thread (lots of pics) Suggestion's ??

Ok fellas I can't stand the fact I've had my CAC-Pipe's off alot lately & it doesn't matter how short of a time since they were off,
there's always a crap ton of Oil inside those Tube's

I've spent alot of time searching this Forum as well as the ol' Inter-Web & almost feel more confused as to what "should safely" be done to cure this

Considering the amount of Oil Iam seeing in Tube's I can't imagine how much Oil must be in my Intercooler, so I assume I need to remove my Intercooler to drain it (why in the hell that doesn't have a drain is beyond me)

My 3 thoughts to cure this are....

1. BD Diesel Crank Case Vent (CCV) Filter Kit - $375
Unfortunately it mounts right where my Coolant Filter mounts...So
BD Diesel Performance US Crank Case Vent (CCV) Filter Kit - 2003-2007 6.0L

2. DynoProven 6.0L Crank Case Ventilation Plug & alot of 1 inch Hose to route rearward
6.0L Crank Case Ventilation Plug
* This option Iam unsure of as I don't want a mess or vapor cloud but way less $

3. DynoProven 6.0L Crank Case Ventilation Plug & alot of 1 inch Hose to route into the Exhaust System (Is this Safe..?)

What details can u fellas give me on what you've done to your own 6.0 & how's it holding up

I just decided the same thing today! I have dealt with it long enough and the oil in the intake tract needs to go! I think I will just go with running a 5' hose fromt the crankcase hose straight down and plugging the intake hose with a 1" expandable freeze plug. I have seen a bunch a guys just running it through a filter, but I just cannot justify the price. I also don't like the extra lines anymore now that I don't have any extra real estate on the truck available for more accessories. My buddy has his running straight down and hasn't had problems yet.

Probably no ill effects aside from stinky crank case fumes (that you WILL smell unless its routed all the way to the back), oily undercarriage and the possibility of moisture entering your oil system since you are making a CLOSED system now an open system.

To each his own but it should be done the right way IMO.

Good Luck

How long has his been like that (on a 6.0 right)

I know that u have to be very careful because this system can create excess pressure easily routing it through Filters/Canisters so right out to Atmosphere is the safest but I don't want a mess or a smell...

Although all (i believe) of the 18-wheelers I've driven Vent to Atmosphere...So

Damn that's a good thought, wonder if our system is really any different from a Big-Rig (aside from emission restrictions)

I got a filter kit from Sullid01 this last winter and with all
the fun (trans and injector) that went on I am just getting
to the job now. The cats are not going to like me because
they think the box he sent it in is belongs to THEM on only them.

Anyway I will take photos.
The big plus about the closed system is you don't run afoul
of the EPA goon squad. Now I am not sure if it would pass
California CARB or not, but it still is a closed system with an
oil separator is all. I know of other better ways to remove the
oil from the blow by gasses but I don't have access to the tooling
to make the parts. I'll have to chat with Mark (ROBBINthaHOOD HHC Diesel)
and Corey (Creator) about it and see what we can come up with.
Lots of that will need to go on and a bit of Also.

I did mine about 2years ago. Just ran a hose under driver side door. No drips and it only smells after a fresh oil change for about 2 days.

I think it's one of the Raycor filters with some
nice stainless steel braided hose. I have not opened the box
the cats think it's there box to play King of the hill on.

I will be in it this week and let you know for sure on the type.
I recall he said it was one of the larger ones.

Also I will post photos.

I used a 1" inside diameter hose that they plumb whirlpool tubs with just to come down a little past the fuel pump and then into a length of inch and a quarter pcv electrical conduit all the way to the rear axle, you will need a bushing in the bell of the pvc to make the hose fit. I used a heat gun to shape it to fit, then wired it up and painted it all black. You do want to have a downward slope from front to rear, and maybe a little turndown at the end to direct the fumes under the axle. Cost about $20 for everything.
