Need help with CCV filter find

Hi guys,

for the life of me I cannot find a filter for my RACOR CCV4500 system I installed on my truck. The actual filter in it now is CAT part # 274-7913.

I looked on Racor's site for a cross reference, found a part number and bought one on ebay CCV55248-08.....when I opened it I today I thought WTH?!?! Way too small
It was an older box from a store close out so I wonder if maybe I have the correct part number but has since updated and I just bought an old a$$ outdated filter.

I must be dumb since this filter find is eluding me. Anyone have the same dumb luck?

Thanks
Joe

biggest issue for you will be Racor had 2 different models of the 4500 one was a longer version than the other... from what ive heard they since discontinued the longer 4500 series and kept the smaller stubbier one...

supposedly they now sell conversion kits to use the shorter replacement filters.

Racor CCV55248-08
$36 and free shipping at Amazon. (Link probably won't work since I'm on my phone)

Thanks guys I have the same number you guys provided and that is the filter that is too small. Hmmm I'll have to call RACOR and ask them what my options are. I must have an oddball ccv4500 system as sparky83 mentioned

hmm if i remember right the longer 4500 was actually skinner than the newer stumpy 4500... would double check the one you have is the 4500... might have the 6000... have heard of some mfgs shipping the 6000 series in place of the 4500 assemblies by accident...

the 6000 is 1.5 inches wider and overall 3 inches longer...

Well I guess I learn something new everyday. I have been doing some research on line and I FINALLY found a number on a website. My RACOR is a model # CCV55274-10 which translates to the CCV6000 not the 4500 as I have always believed I had. I bought it from a guy on here years ago and he told me it was a 4500

My current housing is 11" tall x 6" diameter and has 4 snap clamps to drop the housing for filter replacement.

lol gotta love when weird things like that happen... the 10 on the end translates to the ultra dense filters... the 08 filters are the medium density.. sometimes theyre a little cheaper but just as good.. been running 08's in mine... when i tried asking racor on how much of a difference there was in it they just replied "the ultra density filters more dense".... ummm ok already figured that part out was looking for more specifics... lol

Edit.....nevermind, you figured it out while I was searching/typing.

Your CAT part # crosses over to a Racor ccv55274-10. That one is a lil more pricey.(figures huh?)

Good info.
Thanks for the work guys. Don't know how long the filters last
and I think the one it the system I got is almost new.

Oh and that like with Amazon that came up odd is this even if
it does happen to be the wrong filter this way others can look at it.
