Saying Thanks – 1953 F100
I wanted to say thanks for the unknowing help from many of you and share a couple of pictures of a 1953 F-100 that I have been working on as I know you love pictures. The intent from the beginning was to bring it back to life and make it road worthy and keep it stock or as close as possible. It is a rock solid truck that has aged very gently for not being on the road in over 30+ years. As you can tell by my joined date and number of posts by me I’m one that lurks enjoying everyone’s else’s posts while gathering information all along the way and rarely posting myself. Again thanks!
These were taken right before I took it for its first spin around the block after long cold winter in Minnesota bringing it back back to life.

Nice looking truck. But I thought you knew we liked pictures. Three?! That's just a tease for us. Drive the heck out of it. It does me good to know others actually have their trucks street legal.
By the way, is that John Deere in your avatar yours? If so, at least one picture of that is required as well.

Thanks for the replies.
The work that it need was new brakes, hoses, belts, new fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, tires, a new interior (all stock) as the mice were not kind to it and just a lot of little things here and there that needed attention. No it was not a family truck, it was Craigslist find. It is 6 cylinder with a synchronize 4 speed, factory radio, fresh air heater and all the other things that come with being a Deluxe cab. It has been repainted once in its life, but was a long time ago.
My avatar…yes that is my 1919 Model N Waterloo Boy, it shares the shed with 11 other Deeres and the 53. I can post a better pic of the Waterloo Boy but don’t want to break any rules doing so.

Our moderators tolerate us pretty well. We love old iron of pretty much all sorts. Even though we give the Chevy stuff a little extra razzing. You know, some guys have actually put a chevy engine in their trucks. (I know, crazy isn't it.)
