HELP! MIRROR DIFFERENCE?

Can anyone one tell me if there is a difference in door mirrors from 2008 and 2011? I am looking for a used driver side door mirror, and i found a couple on ebay. My concern is that the part numbers are different. They both have power, heat, turn signal, manual fold/telescope. The first part of the part number is different, but the 17683 part is the same.
2008 part number :8C3Z17683BC
2011 part number : DC34-17683-B

The second part # you are giving isn't a good Ford part number so there is no way to tell.

That's the number on the mirror. When i look it up on the ford parts website, it only lists the 17683.

The # on the mirror is a Ford engineering # and sometimes we can cross it to an actual part # and sometimes we can't. Most likely the second actual part # is DC3Z.17683.BA and came on a truck with a build date of 10/22/12 and up (13 and up model). It looks like all the features for both are the same.

So you think i should be safe with ordering it for my 2008? I didn't think there was any difference either. But i wanted to make sure first. This one is cleaner than the other one and the same price.

Bodies were redesigned but I am not sure about the mirror base. Looking at pictures for the 2008, the base looks slightly different, but I could be wrong

There is something different in the mirrors but exactly what it is I don't know. Could be memory vs no memory or the plugs are different. I don't stock these high dollar suckers because there are so many different ones.

neither mirror has memory. The add listing does say plug style may be different for pre 2011. Here are pics of the 2 mirrors. The one mounted on the truck is the 2008.

Almost looks like the mounting base is different on the 2011-2015. It almost looks slightly beefier. If that makes sense.

So TASCA ford said that ford changed the pin connector in 2009. But both mirrors are the same, i just may have to change the pins around.

So in my efforts to figure out the difference between 2008 mirrors and 2011+ mirrors, i have found there to be no difference in wiring, pin location, or harness style. But one of my local Ford dealerships gave me the best answer yet.
"In lot of cases the only reason they change The part number is to make parts department carry more parts"
