Mornin' Wyo. I'm on my day off. Looking to buy a house over here. Hopefully I will be able to move back to the Lovell area in the next few years though. Heading to Sheridan to visit the girlfriend next week. Hope ya'll have a good Sunday!

Good Morning Wyoming, and all who slip by!! Happy Sunday! Rain/snow here... but it's my grandson's 8th B-day , I've got the decorations done, gifts are wrapped, we had a cake made to look like a giant cheeseburger and fries, and we are having cheeseburgers and fries for the meal.
Have a great day everyone!!

Uncle Dennis built a '67 Mustang coupe for his daughter too way back when... My cousin shared this picture on FB, so hopefully she won't mind me posting it here.

Just realized I did not reply to your question.... Sorry!

We paid cash for a 40 acre place here in Wyoming, north of Lovell. Sight unseen. Gotta love the Internet!!

Has a crappy house on it, originally built in 1927. Has 2 additions built on the dirt--no foundation. It will be destroyed, and a new house will go up when we get around to it. Planning a 3br/2ba ranch with an attached 2 car garage, and a pole building that will be 3 parts. Shop/cold storage/barn. My plan is to have the old house gone & a new foundation in the ground before next winter. Time will tell.

For now, we live in Lovell at my wife's grandmother's house. She is 88 years old with Alzheimer's. We moved here to take care of her, keep her out of a home. It has been both challenging and rewarding.

Be sure you pull up the floors, and gut the walls, stairs etc., before ya tear it down, you'd be amazed what folks used to hide... the Ol Buzzard and I found some depression crystal glasses and other neat stuff in the floors of an old cabin in the mountains here.

We moved my dad in for 8 years (like you, he was not going to go to any home), I learned a lot about taking care of an elderly person, and a plus side, when he passed, he was with us, and not with strangers.

Lanny, I just realized I've seen you on TV before! Well, you and your wife, and your truck. Cool story.

We spent the last 2-3 weeks removing anything we might be able to reuse, and the wife had a fun time knocking holes in all the walls to check inside. No treasures found, but I do have an electrical service panel, hot water heater, and Blaze King for my shop (someday), and some other stuff that I'll sell on the local classifieds. The center part of the house has hardwood floors under the carpets, but raccoons got in the house and pissed & **** all over. It's in pretty rough shape, and I'm over the salvage stage. I'm ready to torch it.
