I was going to get one, but I ended up using ratchet straps and stuff like that. It went a lot better than I thought it would, at least. Can't stop the freight train.

 

Well, and you weren't too worried about damaging it, either!

Pat, yeah, no fear in damaging it for sure. Especially once I took the sawzall to it lol. I do need to steal the latch hardware off of the old one though before I send it to scrap. Nothing wrong with having extra hardware around, just in case.

 

Hi Bill. I need to find a tailgate for my flareside someday. The guy who I bought the truck from created a tailgate out of wood and that diamond pattern stuff. It looks ok, but it's just not right. I need the big FORD lettering!

 

That'd be nice to find, Steve. Would really be great to come across an original that was on the truck...that could be a challenge though.

As anything that old is, anymore. Getting harder and harder to find the old original sheetmetal parts.

 

Steve, I thought I saw one of those tailgates here on the local Craigsllist. Be pricey to ship, though.

 

There was a guy in Missouri I think that had 40/20/40 seats for the OBS that I wanted - only wanted $200 for the set, but getting them here would cost that much...sigh.
