THE 100 DOLLAR TRUCK TO DAILY DRIVER BUILD
#17
Alright. P/O gave me a few relays today. Tested and they are good. He says he has radius arm bushings for it and will bring them to work tomorrow. (He works in the stall next to me at ford) So now all I need to buy tomorrow is the brake line. Still only in it 104 bucks(truck and an oil filter).

Took fuel sample the other night, Gas is black. Poorest fuel I have ever seen. Pumped it all out. May drop tank tonight and start cleaning. Last night, dropped pass front suspension. Unbolted upper coil bracket, shock mount, I beam, and radius arm. Had it on the ground in 20 minutes. No need to grind and drill out rivets guys. Did notice my I beam is bent. Good thing I have a spare. Will be replacing with new bushings, ball joints, shock, wheel bearings, and rotor on that side.

This is a cool thread! I look forward to seeing where you take this old beast. I'm glad it didn't end up in the crusher!! That happened to too many of these old trucks back during the "Cash for Clunkers" deal. My FIL traded his '96 F150 extended cab w/ 300 i6 during CfC. I mean, the truck was rough for sure, but it was salvageable. Still makes me mad to think about it!!
Anyway, keep up the good work. Keep the progress reports and pictures coming!

Sorry guys, bringing this year old thread back to life.
Anyway, the truck has sat for awhile. A buddy of mine offered to trade me an 89 250 4wd, no engine, for the 2wd 88 150 body. I have the luxury of cannibalizing it first. Going to pull the engine and trans out of the 150 here soon. The 250 originally had a 6.9 in it with a 4 speed. I have the trans and transfer case. Also picked up a late build explorer engine, complete from intake to oil pan (free) and on the stand now. Out of town right now for some good ol ford training, but I'll get some pics of the 250 up soon. Still in this whole deal for around a hundred bucks.

Zfarner- nice truck! A hundred bucks ain't bad. I took an old 94 f250 ( the one in my avatar) that used to be an old gas station plow and farm truck ( more of a yard decoration for last 10-12 years), fixed the rotten leaking transmission lines, am slowly repairing the front brakes, and eventually will get to fluids and filters. Pretty rusty but useable, sadly not for long . Anyway, keep up the good work, will be following along.
