There are a couple of companies that make third row seats for my 1993 Ford Explorer. Specific company I am talking to is J.A.T. Designs. They make aftermarket third row seats that bolt to the frame, come with seat belts, have head rests, and match the interior. They conform to DOT's Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standards. Anybody have any experience with these? Are they safe?

I wouldn't put anyone that I really liked back there. The 1993 explorer is not exactly a case study in occupant safety to begin with. Your rear "crush zone" would be pretty much right where you want to put a seat. Just my opinion.....best of luck
