Lariat outside temp not working

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and have received much support by lurking around searching the posts, now I need help again... My outside temp always reads -40. I have a 2002 f350 Lariat 4x4 CC SW/SB 7.3L, I replaced the sensor behind the grill, still no luck. I traced back the wires and there are no wear marks or rub through that i can see. Is there any way to test with a multimeter? Any help or suggestions would be great. Attached is a pic of the overhead console all other functions on the console work fine. - Thanks, Pete

Move to Florida (sorry - couldn't resist).

Probably something simple that a dealer may be able to fix quickly.

Or, the resistors are loose and need re-soldering, like so many others have reported.

Moving to Fla. My wife would go in a heartbeat,

if it's only the display I'll leave it, and keep out of the dealer. if it would affect other truck functions, i'll consider it. as I mentioned in my orig. post all other console functions are working normally

Would loose resistors only affect one function on the console, all others work fine, compass, MPG, Miles2empty... only the outside temp is faulty, also would this affect the truck? heating, cooling, running temp? this all seems OK as well?

I had an issue with my overhead display acting up. I took it apart and sure enough, the resistors had to be re-soldered. About a 30 minute job from start to finish. Not an issue since. Saved some bucks too!
