Because displaying the plate basically identifies him and creepy internet people can find out who he is and go to his house and maybe steal his truck. Or worse.

You got me scared now, I`m headed out to the shop and blur out my plate #. Don`t wan`t anybody to see it as I drive around every day of the year........someone would be going through alot of trouble to go after a truck this way.
