F7 and F8 fenders

I know most of the big trucks were scrapped that had the F7 and F8 fenders. The same the Coe uses. I recently looked at fenders that were not dented but so paper thin that sand blasting would of destroyed them. I was wondering how feasible it would be to fiberglass over them to try and make a mold to create new fiberglass fenders for the Coes and big trucks. Any thoughts on this guys.

I would think you could find a decent set without too much trouble. In fact I have a good set to sell, they do have rust holes in the typical areas, but very fixable, and no dents, came off a fire truck. Only problem, I'm in WI.

F7-F8 fenders are not the same as COE. Not even close.

I've got rust free F8 fenders, but they will take a bit of hammer work to make pretty. And I'm even farther away.

Scott is right. Conventional and COE fenders are not interchangeable.

So Coe fenders are unique. I had always heard that the Coe Fenders and grill were same as F7 and F8 just the door went over them. I know the Coe grill is wider than the f1-6

You heard incorrect. Conventional fenders, regardless of series have the same general shape. The F7-8's are just a little wider. Length and shape is the same. COE fenders have a decidedly different shape on the rear half.

Big Job F-7/8

COE

"typical" conventional

The 48/50 COE grille and F7/8 grille is wider than the F1/6 trucks. The grilles are all the same for 51-2.

wide grille

narrow grille

DAM I passed up on a beautiful 51 grill because I wasn't there to measure them and I knew the 48s were wider

Why not just apply the fiberglass directly to the underside of the fenders? This would strengthen them and provide a corrosion resistant surface in the fender-wells.

Gee, replying to an old post here! So your picture shows a COE, 51. I assume that is what your asking for fenders for? Keep in mind, as said here, COE and regular cabs are different, and 48-50 is different than 51-52. and F1 has smallest wheel opening, than F2-F6 is bigger wheel opening but same width, than F7 & F8 is wider. I happen to have 48-50 F8 regular cab fenders.
